About

Hello, my name is Nida. I look forward to meeting you.

I am the founder of NP Counseling, and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. I received my Master’s of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I work with all age clients and assist in supporting clients through a number of different challenges. However, I specialize in working with children under the age of thirteen and am passionate about providing early interventions to children and families to help families create strong and healthy foundations for a lifetime of health and well-being. I have worked successfully with children who have experienced attachment issues, trauma, divorce, grief and loss, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, sensory processing challenges, as well as gifted children with social-emotional and behavioral difficulties. I have extensive experience and training in evidenced-based interventions such as Child-Centered Play Therapy, Child-Centered Group Play Therapy, Brazelton Touchpoints, Infant Mental Health, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), utilizing art therapy techniques as well as family therapy modalities. I use strengths-based and holistic approach through empowering strategies that foster relationship building and communication skills within families to help them continue their progress and success after their completion of mental health services. I regularly provide professional trainings in supporting the social-emotional wellness of children and families to parents, teachers, school counselors, nurses, attorneys, police officers, first responders, and pediatricians. I am a qualified supervisor with the state of Florida and have been providing supervisory services to Mental Health Interns since 2017. Providing clinical supervision to interns is one of my passions which gives me the opportunity to help other therapists grow and deliver the best mental services to children and families.
